In 2014, the former Delta Airport Hotel in Richmond BC was purchased and in need of a corporate identity rebrand. As a result, the PACIFIC GATEWAY HOTEL at VANCOUVER AIRPORT came to life. The name and logo were no accident, but the result of a thoughtful process inspired by the hotel owner.
Grateful for the landscape that surrounds the hotel, trees were a natural go-to for the logo. I can remember a simple drawing on a napkin that evolved from one tree to three, representing family and team. Sharing the idea with our team solidified the concept, trees have roots like the roots we have in this Community they said. Trees provide shelter as does our hotel and they grow like us, adapting to change, maturing with time. Trees are representative of the beauty of where we all live.
The combination of a spiritual connection to nature, with the need for a flexible, modern identity were the requirements of this corporate identity rebrand project.
